Utilizing paper and print media in methods of hand-manufacturing, my work is inspired by botánica culture and iconography of santeria, voodoo, and witchcraft. I’m interested in exploring the crossroads of where magic and business savvy intersect as forms of empowerment, and I play the role of artist as entrepreneur for reasons related to my socioeconomic need for financial success in a market that values free labor over career sustainability.

These works are inspired by the contemplative moments that quarantine has provided me. Using materials that are all part of my daily spiritual practice (candles, wax, automatic drawing) this collection of work explores the results of what life slowing down looks like.
